Lutheran Youth Fellowship (LYF) is a group for the youth of our congregation (6th grade through 12 grade). We have monthly meetings and Bible class as well as various activities throughout the year. LYF exists to encourage the youth of our congregation to continue steadfast in God’s word and the Christian faith. It is important that our youth learn to defend the truth of the Gospel in a culture increasingly hostile to it. In a culture that relativizes truth and in American Christianity which has increasingly deserted the truths of Holy Scripture, it is essential that our youth learn to boldly confess the saving truth of Holy Scripture in all its articles. So that our youth are not “tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes” (Ephesians 4:14) it is essential that we raise our children in the truth of Holy Scripture. Bringing our children to Divine Service regularly, having devotions with them at home, is how our children are equipped to confess the truth in a world that loves falsehood. LYF is a service to our Christian parents to help them raise their children in the Christian faith.
