It is vitally important that our children learn well the Christian faith. Therefore, for many centuries, Christians have used a collection of important texts as a basic summary for teaching the Christian faith and life to their children. The texts, often referred to as a catechism, include the Ten Commandments, Creed, Lord’s Prayer, biblical passages on Baptism, the Office of the Keys and Confession, and the Lord’s Supper (which is referred to as the six chief parts of Christian doctrine). Luther’s Small Catechism includes these texts along with brief explanations. Children ages 6th through 8th grade are taught the Christian faith using Luther’s Small Catechism. Classes are on Wednesdays throughout the school year from 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
