Altar Guild

The purpose of the altar guild is to give glory to God by ensuring that our place of worship is given proper and reverent care. This involves learning such things as the times and seasons of the Church Year, the setting in order, cleaning and putting away the sacramental (Baptism & Lord’s Supper) vessels and linens, caring for the vestments of the congregation, and meeting regularly to study topics related the Divine Service so that we are “sure that all things are done decently and in order.” (1 Corinthians 14:40) Anyone (Confirmation age and older, male and female) is welcome and encouraged to join the altar guild. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents to teach their children to serve the church throughout their lives.
